Hire Me!

Picture
Hey!

You should hire me. I'm awesome, I promise.

Just how awesome? Consider this:

1. I'll never stop learning. I'm the kind of person who does things like signing up for a hip-hop workshop and applying lessons from a freestyling session to my job. I'm the kind of person who planned debate tournaments in the French language for non-native speaker language students when I was learning the language. I've also been a graphic designer for four years, and I started a program for pro-bono design for non-profits when I was getting started. Check out my portfolio here!

2. I'm committed to learning more about other cultures. I've co-produced a book with youth contributors from Seattle to Sierra Leone. I speak English, Mandarin Chinese and French. I've spoken at a conference in French, been interviewed by China's #1 blogger in Chinese, and I worked in India for two months for an Indian company. I also spend my free time learning things about other cultures through the arts: I've performed a 9-minute Kuchipudi (classical Indian dance) piece, can rock some tango moves, and performed some West African Dance pieces (including a samba-inspired flash mob!).

3. I go above and beyond in serving the community, and through that, have learned skills I can apply to help you. I started a conference to train 25 students from 9 different high schools to start 4 new service projects, and served on a board and mobilized 6000+ students to raise $180,000+ for charity. I was the only youth recipient of the City of Cupertino's CREST Award and I was recognized by Governor Schwarzenegger, Congressman Honda, Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer for my community engagement work.

I'm proactive, passionate, and I take action. What are you waiting for? Contact me and let's talk.

What others say:

"Mark my words, Crystal has got BIG things in her future. Tons of initiative to turn ideas into reality." -Jason Shen, Customer Scout at isocket, Co-founder of Gumball Capital

"Crystal gave a spirited and content-rich presentation about teens and social networks to the Supernova Conference in San Francisco. She proved to be a fan favorite at this important gathering of technology, business and government thought leaders. Anyone marketing to students should get a copy of Crystal's presentation. Really breaks it down into effective steps." -Mary Trigiani, Marketing Consultant at Spada Inc.

"It is rare that you find someone with the breadth of vision the Crystal possesses—the open-mindedness and ability to “think big”—who also can break down that larger vision into discrete, achievable steps and tasks. Crystal is an incredibly efficient worker who has both." -Elizabeth Ferguson, Supervisor at Amherst College Center for Community Engagement

"Crystal demonstrated, in a very short amount of time, that her skills in marketing, blogging, and visual editing were matched by her energy, ability to collaborate in a team environment, creativity, and ability to provide constructive and supportive feedback. Often, Crystal volunteers to co-facilitate different team projects, even those that are not in her primary job description. As a result, Crystal has provided valuable perspectives to different tasks, events, and goals that our program offers, which in my opinion have helped the CCE create a stronger program because of her contributions and active participation." - Oscar Lanza-Galindo, Former Supervisor at Amherst College Center for Community Engagement
